Gray and white, ears half up, clearly keeping an eye on you — modeled, more than a little, after my own dog Twyla, who’s never once let me get away with anything. (If you’re thinking “that’s a blue merle Aussie,” you’re not wrong. The resemblance is strong and entirely intentional — Twyla’s a border collie Australian shepherd mix!) Like every Modern as Folk piece, this merle border collie ornament is drawn, cut, and handstitched by yours truly in wool felt, with personality worked right into the stitching. Because each one’s cut by hand, expect a little variation from piece to piece — that’s part of the handmade charm.
